The New Republic: Spending Less Won't Aid Growth

John Boehner, elected Speaker of the House yesterday, has vowed to cut government spending by $100 Billion in the next fiscal year. William Galston of The New Republic argues that although both parties claim to want economic growth, Republicans must realize that it cannot come only from less government spending.
